As we’ve seen with some of the recent gaming anniversaries celebrated it usually means that an anniversary edition version of a game comes out or even special hardware editions come out, but Atari has thrown us all a curve ball for their 40 year anniversary.
At Target there will be boxes of General Mills cereals (Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, Lucky Charms, Cocoa Puffs, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch) with special old school Atari graphics featuring games like Centipede and Asteroids on the back with activities and trivia all to celebrate Atari’s 40th anniversary. The boxes will be available until the end of March so act quickly.
You can also go to the General Mills ‘Grocery Savvy” website to play Centipede and register to win either an Atari Arcade Duo for the iPad and a $10 Target gift card or an Atari shirt and a $10 Target gift card.
